Just to clarify The Canalside Heritage Centre Trust is not currently at the lock trying to get donations or direct debits from people. As far as we can tell it is representatives of The Canal & Rivers Trust (who own the cottages). [...]

For the avoidance of doubt, the tour due to take place as part of Heritage Open Days at Chilwell Depot has been postponed and may even have to be cancelled. All people booked on the tour were either emailed or telephoned in mid-July to this effect and will subsequently be notified if and when the tour will take place.

We are really pleased that Steve Plowright is joining us for our Canalside Heritage Open Day at The Boat & Horses Pub, Beeston Rylands on Saturday 13th September. He is a well known Beeston/Nottingham folk singer, musician, writer of poetry and songs and his greatest passion of all - Corn Dollies. Heritage Open Weekend is here again!! It doesn't seem like a year ago does it?

Take a look at our website and at one of the 10,000 booklets that we have had printed for more details of 35 plus events that are taking place this coming weekend.
There are events taking place in Attenborough, Beeston, Bramcote, Chilwell, Stapleford, Toton and Wollaton.
Entrance is free at all of the events, and most venues also serve refreshments, at small cost.

Those of you who park in Sainsbury's and walk through to the High Road may have seen some activity at the Ten Bell. It is currently being cleaned, not before time, prior to a new Blue Plaque being unveiled next Thursday, 11th September at 11am.
