Had this lovely 'Red Data Book' species moth in the trap last night. It seems the Small Ranunculus is making a comeback! This species became extinct in Britain in the early part of 20th century but re-appeared in Kent in 2002 - reaching Nottinghamshire in 2009. Beeston Festival AGM poster 2014

Beeston Festival will hold its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 27 September at Hillside on Beeston Road, starting at 2:30pm.

As well as reviewing the last year, we will be looking at plans for the 2015 festival and considering a re-branding design makeover. Plus we'll have tea and cake!

Plessey Site update

Negotiations have been on-going regarding school places. Clearly the Rylands Junior School will need expanding to take care of the need generated by the additional housing. Events Galore

This weekend is a busy one for Beeston and especially the Rylands we have:

Canalside Heritage Centre at the Boat and Horses
Saturday from 10am to 4pm;
* Traditional Folk music and Morris dancing
* Vintage Bus Service and display
* Refreshments, cake stall and Tombola
* All manner of heritage displays, including corn dollies, spinning, weaving, bobbin lace, proddy rug making, crochet and embroidery.
* Narrow boat trips from the lock
